Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 45.98.060

  • Interest rate: The amount paid by a borrower to a lender in exchange for the use of the lender's money for a certain period of time. Interest is paid on loans or on debt instruments, such as notes or bonds, either at regular intervals or as part of a lump sum payment when the issue matures. Source: OCC
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

After a project for which a loan is granted is commenced, if the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development or a local historical district commission, in consultation with the Alaska Historical Commission, determines that the project is inconsistent with the guidelines or stipulations for construction, or otherwise fails to conform to the requirements of the loan, the interest rate on the state‘s share of the loan shall be increased to the highest rate of interest allowed at that time as provided in Alaska Stat. § 45.45.010. In addition, a penalty in the amount of two percent of the balance of the loan shall be assessed by the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development.
