Terms Used In Arizona Laws > Title 48 > Chapter 19 > Article 10.1 - Revenue Bonds

  • Action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Arizona Laws 1-215
  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Bonds: means revenue bonds and includes notes if applicable. See Arizona Laws 48-3212
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • including: means not limited to and is not a term of exclusion. See Arizona Laws 1-215
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Personal property: All property that is not real property.
  • Personal property: includes money, goods, chattels, things in action and evidences of debt. See Arizona Laws 1-215
  • Property: includes both real and personal property. See Arizona Laws 1-215
  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
  • Undertaking: means for the purpose of this article the purchase, construction, leasing or acquisition of any real or personal property, works or facilities which the district is authorized by law to purchase, construct, lease or otherwise acquire, or the improvement, reconstruction, extension or addition to any real or personal property, works or facilities owned or operated by the district, or any program of development involving real or personal property, works or facilities which the district is authorized by law to purchase, construct, lease or otherwise acquire or the improvement, reconstruction, extension or addition to such program, but does not include the acquisition by the exercise of the right of eminent domain or condemnation of any existing electrical works or electrical facilities.   • Uniform Commercial Code: A set of statutes enacted by the various states to provide consistency among the states' commercial laws. It includes negotiable instruments, sales, stock transfers, trust and warehouse receipts, and bills of lading. Source: OCC
