This chapter does not apply to a real estate investment trust as defined in § 23000 of the Corporations Code that has a statement on file, pursuant to § 18200 of the Corporations Code, designating an agent for service of process or has qualified to do business under Chapter 21 (commencing with Section 2100) of Division 1 of the Corporations Code.
