The total amount due to each city, county, city and county, and special district, for which the state has determined that reimbursement is required under paragraph (2) of subdivision (b) of Section 6 of XIII B of the California Constitution, shall be appropriated for payment to these entities over a period of not more than 15 years, commencing with the Budget Act for the 2006-07 fiscal year and concluding with the Budget Act for the 2020-21 fiscal year. There shall be no appropriation for payment of reimbursement claims submitted pursuant to this section for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 fiscal years.

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Government Code 18
  • Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which the term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Government Code 10
