The proclamation and notice of election provided for pursuant to this article shall be published at least once a week for three weeks commencing not less than 70 days prior to the date of the election in a newspaper of general circulation in the approved county.

Terms Used In California Government Code 23374.2

  • Approved county: means the territory to be included in a new county after the registered voters in the affected county or counties have approved the creation of such a new county at a primary election, pursuant to Article 4 (commencing with Section 23350), but before an election is held for purposes of determining the location of the county seat and the selection of county officers for such new county, pursuant to Article 4.   • Notice: includes all papers and orders required to be served in any proceedings before any court, board, or officer, or when required by law to be served independently of such proceeding. See California Government Code 26660
