The board of supervisors of any county may provide for an additional fee for filing every preliminary notice pursuant to subdivision (a) of § 8214 of the Civil Code for the exclusive purpose of defraying the cost of implementing and maintaining a system to facilitate compliance with subdivision (b) of § 8214 of the Civil Code.
