  • Authority: means the Capitol Area Development Authority created by the joint powers agreement executed pursuant to Section 8169. See California Government Code 12438.1
  • Automotive spark-ignition engine fuel: means a product used for the generation of power in a spark-ignition internal combustion engine. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Capitol area: includes both of the following:

    California Government Code 12419.7

  • Central city: means that area of the City of Sacramento bounded on the north by the American River, on the west by the Sacramento River, and on the south and east by Interstate Highway 80. See California Government Code 12419.7
  • Core area: means that area of the City of Sacramento within the area bounded by "G" Street on the north, "R" Street on the south, 5th Street on the west, and 17th Street on the east. See California Government Code 12419.7
  • Department: means the Department of General Services. See California Government Code 12419.7
  • Director: means the Director of General Services. See California Government Code 12419.7
  • Engine fuel: means any gasoline, diesel, or alternative fuel used for the generation of power in an internal combustion engine or fuel cell in a motor vehicle, or electrical power delivered conductively or inductively to an electric motor in electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Gasoline: means a volatile mixture of liquid hydrocarbons, generally containing small amounts of additives, suitable for use as a fuel in a spark-ignition internal combustion engine. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Gasoline-oxygenate blend: means a fuel consisting primarily of gasoline along with a substantial amount of one or more oxygenates that meets ASTM International Standard D4814. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Kerosene: means a fuel offered for sale that meets the standards for kerosene prescribed in this chapter. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • local agency: means any county, city, city and county, including any charter county, city, or city and county, and any district, school district, municipal or public corporation, political subdivision, or public agency of the state, or any instrumentality of one or more of any such agencies. See California Government Code 53247
  • Lubricant: means a lubricating oil or other substance that reduces friction and wear between moving parts within an engine and other motor vehicle components. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Metropolitan area: means the greater metropolitan Sacramento area, including the City of Sacramento, the County of Sacramento, and the eastern part of Yolo County. See California Government Code 12419.7
  • Motor oil: means an oil that reduces friction and wear between the moving parts within an internal combustion engine and also serves as a coolant. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Motor vehicle fuel: means "engine fuel" when that term is used in this chapter. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Owner: means any person, including his or her legal representative, who has or had a legal or equitable interest in unclaimed property. See California Government Code 12461.1
  • Oxygenate: means an oxygen-containing ashless organic compound, such as an alcohol or ether, that can be used as a fuel or fuel supplement. See California Government Code 53202.25
  • Person: includes any individual, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See California Government Code 12461.1
  • Project area: includes both of the following:

    California Government Code 12438.1

  • Redevelopment plan: means the Capitol Area Plan approved by the Director of General Services on March 15, 1977, and referred to in Section 8160, and the plan prepared pursuant to Section 8182. See California Government Code 12438.1
  • state agency: includes every state office, officer, department, division, bureau, board, and commission. See California Government Code 11000
  • Unclaimed property: means any tangible personal property or intangible personal property, including choses in action in amounts certain, and all debts owed or entrusted funds or other property held by any federal agency or any officer or employee thereof, whether occasioned by contract or operation of law or otherwise, except bonuses and gratuities, which has remained unclaimed by the owner for:
