• Affirmative actions: means any activity for the purpose of eliminating discrimination in housing accommodations because of race, color, religion, sex, marital status, national origin, ancestry, familial status, or disability. See California Government Code 12927

• Employment agency: includes any person undertaking for compensation to procure employees or opportunities to work. See California Government Code 12926
• firearm: includes the frame or receiver of the weapon:

• Food: as used in this chapter , includes all articles used for food, drink, confectionery, or condiment, whether simple or compound, and all substances and ingredients used in the preparation thereof. See California Health and Safety Code 111950
• Freeway: means a highway in respect to which the owners of abutting lands have no right or easement of access to or from their abutting lands or in respect to which such owners have only limited or restricted right or easement of access. See California Streets and Highways Code 23.5
• Gender: means sex, and includes a person's gender identity and gender expression. See California Government Code 12926
• Gender expression: means a person's gender-related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person's assigned sex at birth. See California Government Code 12926
• Genetic information: includes any request for, or receipt of, genetic services, or participation in clinical research that includes genetic services, by an individual or any family member of the individual. See California Government Code 12926
• handgun: means any pistol, revolver, or firearm capable of being concealed upon the person. See California Penal Code 16640
• highway: includes bridges, culverts, curbs, drains, and all works incidental to highway construction, improvement, and maintenance. See California Streets and Highways Code 23
• Housing accommodation: includes a building, structure, or portion thereof that is occupied, or intended to be occupied, pursuant to a transaction facilitated by a hosting platform, as defined in §. See California Government Code 12927
• knowingly: import s only a knowledge that the facts exist which bring the act or omission within the provisions of this code. See California Penal Code 7
• license: shall include a permit or a certificate issued by a state agency. See California Penal Code 23
• locked container: means a secure container that is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, keylock, combination lock, or similar locking device. See California Penal Code 16850
