(a) The district shall follow the design-build procedure described in Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 22160) to award a design-build contract pursuant to this article.
(b) For purposes of this section, all references in Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 22160) to “county” and “local agency” shall mean the district, as defined in subdivision (f) of Section 21568.2.

- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Design-build: means a project delivery process in which both the design and construction of a project are procured from a single entity. See California Public Contract Code 21568.2
- District: means the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. See California Public Contract Code 21568.2
