- Acquisition: means the acquisition from a willing seller of a fee interest or any other interest, including easements and development rights, in real property from a willing seller. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Board: means the Secretary of the Resources Agency designated in accordance with subdivision (b) of Section 5096. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- board: means the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 20
- City: includes incorporated city, city and county, municipal corporation, municipality, town, and incorporated town. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 14
- Committee: means the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection (Villaraigosa-Keeley Act) Finance Committee created pursuant to subdivision (a) of Section 5096. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Controller: means the State Controller. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 21
- County: includes "city and county. See California Public Resources Code 14
- County: includes city and county. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 15
- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- District: means any regional park district, regional park and open-space district, or regional open-space district formed pursuant to Article 3 (commencing with Section 5500) of Chapter 3, any recreation and park district formed pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 5780), or an authority formed pursuant to Division 26 (commencing with Section 35100). See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Fund: means the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection (Villaraigosa-Keeley Act) Bond Fund created pursuant to Section 5096. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Legacy: A gift of property made by will.
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- newspaper: means a newspaper of general circulation. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 36.5
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- Person: includes any person, firm, partnership, general partner of a partnership, limited liability company, registered limited liability partnership, foreign limited liability partnership, association, corporation, company, syndicate, estate, trust, business trust, or organization of any kind. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 19
- Personal property: All property that is not real property.
- Program: means the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection (Villaraigosa-Keeley Act) Program established pursuant to this chapter. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
- Secretary: means the Secretary of the Resources Agency. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Stewardship: means the development and implementation of projects for the protection, preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and improvement of natural systems and outstanding features of the state park system and historical and cultural resources. See California Public Resources Code 5096.308
- Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
