- City: means a city or the City and County of San Francisco. See California Public Resources Code 5642
- City: includes "city and county" and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Government Code 20
- corporation: includes a limited liability company. See California Government Code 53601.2
- County: includes "city and county. See California Public Resources Code 14
- County: includes city and county. See California Government Code 19
- Critically underserved community: means a community that meets either of the following:

- department: means the Department of Parks and Recreation and "director" means the Director of Parks and Recreation. See California Public Resources Code 5001.1
- District: means one of the following:
California Public Resources Code 5642
- Facilities: includes , but is not limited to, places for organized team sports, outdoor recreation, and informal turf play. See California Public Resources Code 5642
- local agency: means county, city, city and county, including a chartered city or county, school district, community college district, public district, county board of education, county superintendent of schools, or any public or municipal corporation. See California Government Code 53600
- nonprofit organization: means any nonprofit entity qualified to do business in California, qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of Title 26 of the United States Code, and that has among its primary purposes the preservation, protection, or enhancement of land or water resources in their natural, scenic, historical, agricultural, forested, or open-space condition or use, or the provision of conservation and environmental education and other recreational, vocational, and educational services to youth.
