  • Adjourn: A motion to adjourn a legislative chamber or a committee, if passed, ends that day's session.
  • Assessing district: means any Chino Basin district which levies a production assessment under this chapter. See California Water Code 72140.1
  • board: means the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 20
  • City: includes city and county and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Public Utilities Code 19
  • Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by §. See California Public Utilities Code 20
  • commissioner: means a member of the commission. See California Public Utilities Code 20
  • Controller: means the State Controller. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 21
  • County: includes city and county. See California Water Code 14
  • County: includes city and county. See California Public Utilities Code 18
  • County: includes city and county. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 15
  • Eligible county: means a county that meets both of the following requirements:

  • Energy transporter: means and includes every utility and nonutility owner or operator, or both, of a natural gas or electric transmission or distribution system, or both, subject to a franchise agreement executed pursuant to this division, provided that proprietary gas pipelines whose franchise fees are set forth in Article 2 (commencing with Section 6231) of Chapter 2 shall not be covered by this chapter.   • Fiduciary: A trustee, executor, or administrator.
  • industrial gas: means any substance which is in a gaseous state at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure used for commercial, industrial, or scientific purposes, but does not include any gaseous hydrocarbon used for light, heat, power, or feedstock. See California Public Utilities Code 6201.3
  • Mortgage loan: A loan made by a lender to a borrower for the financing of real property. Source: OCC
  • Municipality: includes counties. See California Public Utilities Code 6351
  • Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Water Code 19
  • Precedent: A court decision in an earlier case with facts and law similar to a dispute currently before a court. Precedent will ordinarily govern the decision of a later similar case, unless a party can show that it was wrongly decided or that it differed in some significant way.
  • President pro tempore: A constitutionally recognized officer of the Senate who presides over the chamber in the absence of the Vice President. The President Pro Tempore (or, "president for a time") is elected by the Senate and is, by custom, the Senator of the majority party with the longest record of continuous service.
  • Producer: means any person who produces groundwater within the Chino Basin, excluding minimal pumpers. See California Water Code 72140.1
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Public Utilities Code 17
  • Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Public Utilities Code 10
  • subscription: includes mark when the signer or subscriber cannot write, such signer's or subscriber's name being written near the mark by a witness who writes his own name near the signer's or subscriber's name. See California Public Utilities Code 16
  • Surcharge: means a municipal surcharge for the use of public lands by a transportation customer as defined in subdivision (c). See California Public Utilities Code 6351
  • Transportation customer: means every person, firm, or corporation, other than the State of California or a political subdivision thereof, transporting gas or electricity on an energy transporter's transmission or distribution system, or both, when the gas or electricity was purchased by the transportation customer from a third party. See California Public Utilities Code 6351
