  • Act: means the California School Finance Authority Act. See California Education Code 17173
  • Agent: means a county or city board of education or superintendent of schools acting with the board's consent, on behalf of one or more school districts for any purpose of this chapter, the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges or the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges acting with the Board of Governors' consent, on behalf of one or more community college districts for any purpose of this chapter, and the school district, county office of education, or other chartering entity acting with the consent of, and on behalf of, one or more charter schools for any purpose of this chapter.   • Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
  • Appraisal: A determination of property value.
  • Assessee: means the person to whom property or a tax is assessed. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 23
  • Authority: means the California School Finance Authority, or any board, body, commission, department, or officer succeeding to the principal functions of the authority, or to which the powers conferred upon the authority by this chapter shall be given by law. See California Education Code 17173
  • Charter school: means a school established pursuant to Part 26. See California Education Code 17173
  • City: includes city and county and "incorporated town" but does not include "unincorporated town" or "village. See California Public Utilities Code 19
  • Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission created by §. See California Public Utilities Code 20
  • conduit: includes ditches, pipe lines, and other means of diversion. See California Water Code 4001
  • Controller: means the State Controller. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 21
  • County: includes city and county. See California Water Code 14
  • County: includes "city and county. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14
  • County: includes city and county. See California Public Utilities Code 18
  • County: includes city and county. See California Unemployment Insurance Code 14
  • department: means the State Department of Health Services. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14062
  • Educational facility: means any property, facility, structure, equipment, or furnishings used or operated in conjunction with one or more public schools, including charter schools, or community colleges, including, but not limited to, all of the following:

  • Eligible county: means a county which meets both of the following requirements:

  • Eligible property: means real property and any manufactured home which has received the homeowners' exemption or is eligible for the homeowners' exemption as of March 1, 1986, and which is located in an eligible county. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 181
  • Eligible property: means real property and any manufactured home, including any new construction that was completed or any change in ownership that occurred prior to the date of the disaster that meets both of the following requirements:

  • Fair market value: means "full cash value" or "fair market value" as defined in Section 110. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 194
  • Indemnification: In general, a collateral contract or assurance under which one person agrees to secure another person against either anticipated financial losses or potential adverse legal consequences. Source: FDIC
  • initiative: means the Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative established in this article. See California Unemployment Insurance Code 14030
  • Medi-Cal: means the California Medical Assistance Program. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 14063
  • Next property tax installment payment date: means December 10 or April 10, whichever date occurs first after the last date on which the eligible property was damaged. See California Revenue and Taxation Code 194
  • Original bill: A bill which is drafted by a committee. It is introduced by the committee or subcommittee chairman after the committee votes to report it.
  • Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
  • Participating party: means :

  • Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Water Code 19
  • Probation officers: Screen applicants for pretrial release and monitor convicted offenders released under court supervision.
  • Project: means the acquisition, construction, expansion, remodeling, renovation, improvement, furnishing, or equipping of an educational facility to be financed or refinanced pursuant to this chapter. See California Education Code 17173
  • Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
  • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Public Utilities Code 17
  • Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Water Code 10

  • United States: means the United States of America, and in relation to any particular matter includes the officers, agents, employees, agencies, or instrumentalities authorized to act in relation thereto. See California Water Code 20

  • Working capital: means funds to be used by, or on behalf of, a participating party to pay maintenance or operating expenses, or any other costs that would be treated as an expense item under generally accepted accounting principles in connection with the ownership or operation of an educational facility, including, but not limited to, all of the following:
