- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Department: means the State Department of Public Health. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4369.1
- Gambling disorder: means a condition that causes the person to be unable to resist impulses to gamble, which can lead to harmful negative consequences, and that meets the diagnostic criteria set forth in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4369.1
- institution: include every hospital, boarding home, or other place receiving or caring for persons with mental health disorders. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4011
- Office: means the Office of Problem Gambling. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4369.1
- Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
- Prevention program: means a program designed to reduce the prevalence of gambling disorders among California residents. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4369.1
- Treatment program: means a program designed to assist individuals who experience harmful negative consequences related to gambling disorders. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4369.1
