When the load-carrying capacity of any bridge on any highway is such that it will not carry safely any vehicle or combination of vehicle and trailer or semitrailer or any other object within the limits of the weights specified in § 14-267a, the authority having control of such bridge shall maintain notice at each end of such bridge legible at a distance of fifty feet, stating the maximum weight of vehicle which such bridge will carry safely. Any person may appeal from the restriction of the use of such bridge under the provisions of § 13a-89.
