(a) Unless displaced by particular provisions of sections 34-300 to 34-399, inclusive, the principles of law and equity supplement said sections.

- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
(b) If an obligation to pay interest arises under sections 34-300 to 34-399, inclusive, and the rate is not specified, the rate is that specified in § 37-1.
