No person engaged in the business of making residential mortgage loans in this state, whether licensed in accordance with the provisions of sections 36a-485 to 36a-498e, inclusive, 36a-534a and 36a-534b or exempt from licensing, shall accept applications or referral of applicants from, or pay a fee to, any mortgage broker or mortgage loan originator who is required to be licensed under said sections but was not, as of the time of the performance of such mortgage broker’s or mortgage loan originator’s services in connection with loans made or to be made by the mortgage lender or mortgage correspondent lender, licensed to act as such by the commissioner, if the mortgage lender or mortgage correspondent lender has actual knowledge that the mortgage broker or mortgage loan originator was not licensed by the commissioner.

  • Commissioner: means the Banking Commissioner and, with respect to any function of the commissioner, includes any person authorized or designated by the commissioner to carry out that function. See Connecticut General Statutes 36a-2

  • Person: means an individual, company, including a company described in subparagraphs (A) and (B) of subdivision (11) of this section, or any other legal entity, including a federal, state or municipal government or agency or any political subdivision thereof.   • State: means any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, any territory of the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the trust territory of the Pacific Islands, the Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands. See Connecticut General Statutes 36a-2
