Whoever bribes or attempts to bribe anyone expecting to hold any official position under the election or registration laws of this State, either as registrar, inspector, judge or otherwise, by giving money or the promise of money, office or the promise of office or position either under the state or federal government, to perform any service for any political party in this State or to favor any candidate for political office shall be fined not more than $1,000 and may be imprisoned not more than 6 months.

  • Inspector: means inspector of elections. See Delaware Code Title 15 Sec. 101
  • Judge: means judge of elections. See Delaware Code Title 15 Sec. 101
  • political party: means any political organization which elects a state committee and officers of a state committee, by a state convention composed of delegates elected from each representative district in which the party has registered members, and which nominates candidates for electors of President and Vice-President, or nominates candidates for offices to be decided at the general election.   • State: means the State of Delaware; and when applied to different parts of the United States, it includes the District of Columbia and the several territories and possessions of the United States. See Delaware Code Title 1 Sec. 302
