§ 23.21. Violations and penalties. Any person, partnership, corporation, company, trust or association willfully violating any of the provisions of this article or any rule or regulation issued thereunder shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.

Terms Used In N.Y. Arts and Cultural Affairs Law 23.21

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • person: shall mean an individual, firm, company, partnership, corporation, trust or association. See N.Y. Arts and Cultural Affairs Law 23.03
