  • Receipt: means the document that is issued by the local governing authority which bears the words "Local Business Tax Receipt" and evidences that the person in whose name the document is issued has complied with the provisions of this chapter relating to the business tax. See Florida Statutes 205.022
A county or municipality may not issue a business tax receipt for the operation of an assisted living facility pursuant to chapter 429 without first ascertaining that the applicant has been licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration to operate such facility at the specified location or locations. The Agency for Health Care Administration shall furnish to local agencies responsible for issuing business tax receipts sufficient instructions for making the required determinations.
