  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
In the event that the rates, fees, rentals, tolls, fares, or other charges for the services and facilities of any project are not paid when due, the board may discontinue and shut off the same until such rates, fees, rentals, tolls, fares, or other charges, including interest, penalties, and charges for the shutting off and discontinuance and the restoration of such services and facilities, are fully paid. Such delinquent rates, fees, rentals, tolls, fares, or other charges, together with interest, penalties, and charges for the shutting off and discontinuance and the restoration of such services and facilities, and reasonable attorney’s fees and other expenses, may be recovered by Space Florida by suit in any court of competent jurisdiction. Space Florida may also enforce payment of such delinquent rates, fees, rentals, tolls, fares, or other charges by any other lawful method of enforcement.
