  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
In accordance with the provisions of s. 16.53, 30 percent of all moneys recovered from a contractor or its affiliate on behalf of the state by reason of any decree or settlement in any state or federal antitrust claim prosecuted by the Attorney General shall be deposited in the Legal Affairs Revolving Trust Fund. The remainder of the moneys recovered shall be deposited in the State Transportation Trust Fund instead of the General Revenue Fund as generally provided under s. 16.53.
