  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
Information about disabled adults who receive services under ss. 410.031410.036 which is received through files, reports, inspection, or otherwise, by the department or by authorized departmental employees, by persons who volunteer services, or by persons who provide services to disabled adults under ss. 410.031410.036 through contracts with the department is confidential and exempt from the provisions of s. 119.07(1). The information may not be disclosed publicly in a manner that identifies a disabled adult, unless the person or his or her legal guardian provides written consent.
