Terms Used In Florida Statutes 478.47

  • Board: means the Board of Medicine. See Florida Statutes 478.42
  • Department: means the Department of Health. See Florida Statutes 478.42
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The department shall issue a license by endorsement to any applicant who submits an application and the required fees as set forth in s. 478.55 and who holds an active license or other authority to practice electrology in a jurisdiction whose licensure requirements are determined by the board to be equivalent to the requirements for licensure in this state.
