  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Energy performance level: means the indicator of the energy-related performance of a building, including, but not limited to, the levels of insulation, the amount and type of glass, and the HVAC and water heating system efficiencies. See Florida Statutes 553.902
The energy performance level resulting from compliance with the provisions of this part, for each new residential building, shall be disclosed at the request of the prospective purchaser. In conjunction with the normal responsibilities and duties of this part, the local building official shall require that a complete and accurate energy performance level display card be completed and certified by the builder as accurate and correct before final approval of the building for occupancy. The energy performance level display card shall be included as an addendum to each sales contract. The display card shall be uniform statewide and developed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. At a minimum, the display card shall list information indicating the energy performance level of the dwelling unit resulting from compliance with the code, shall be signed by the builder, and shall list general information about the energy performance level and the code.
