Terms Used In Florida Statutes 570.916

  • Agriculture: means the science and art of production of plants and animals useful to humans, including to a variable extent the preparation of these products for human use and their disposal by marketing or otherwise, and includes aquaculture, horticulture, floriculture, viticulture, forestry, dairy, livestock, poultry, bees, and any and all forms of farm products and farm production.   • Department: means the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. See Florida Statutes 570.02
The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is authorized to negotiate agreements with landowners for water supply in rural areas, provided that:

(1) The water to be supplied is currently available to property owned or controlled by the department; and
(2) The intended use and quantity are not inconsistent with any permit required under part II of chapter 373 for the source of supply in effect at the time of the agreement.
