- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Sections 617.1601–617.1605 do not apply to a corporation that is an association, as defined in s. 720.301, or a corporation regulated under chapter 718 or chapter 719.
