Terms Used In Florida Statutes 663.08

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Before opening an office in this state, and annually thereafter so long as a bank office is maintained in this state, an international banking corporation licensed pursuant to ss. 663.01663.14 shall certify to the office the amount of its capital accounts, expressed in the currency of the jurisdiction of its incorporation. The dollar equivalent of these amounts, as determined by the office, shall be deemed to be the amount of its capital accounts. The annual certification of capital accounts must be received by the office on or before June 30 of each year.
