When the board of directors considers it to be for the best interests of the district to compromise or cancel any unpaid assessments of the district on lands acquired by a county for taxes, the board shall make an order to the tax collector of the county in which the lands are situated to cancel or change the existing irrigation liens. Upon receipt of the order, the tax collector shall correct the delinquent tax rolls in accordance with the order of the board. [Amended by 1973 c.305 § 18; 1995 c.42 § 104]
