Terms Used In 12 Guam Code Ann. § 3110
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Dismissal: The dropping of a case by the judge without further consideration or hearing. Source:
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
(b) The Board shall meet in regular session at least once each month, commencing during the fourth month following the enactment of this Chapter, and in special session as often as it may deem necessary. Meetings of the Board shall be open, except for matters pertaining to the hiring and dismissal of any employee or Station Manager of the Corporation.
(c) A majority of the Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. The Board shall act by a vote of at least four (4) of its members.
(d) The Board members shall receive no salary for their services on the Board, provided, however, that they may be paid a reasonable per diem not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50) for attendance at meetings of the Board and reasonable travel allowance for time spent on official business of the Corporation,
except that the Station Manager shall not be paid any sums under this clause.

2020 NOTE: P.L. 16-44:21 (Oct. 13, 1981)(Annual Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 1982), prohibited the payment of per diem, stating: “”No person who is a member of any board or commission within the Government of shall be compensated for service on such board or commission.”” This prohibition was repealed by P.L. 16-115:11:6 (Oct. 7,
1982) (Annual Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 1983).
