Terms Used In 5 Guam Code Ann. § 44101

  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
A new commission, called the Guam Transportation Commission (GTC), is hereby formed. The GTC shall consist of five (5) directors appointed by I Maga’lahen Guåhan [Governor] with the advice and consent of I Liheslaturan Guåhan [legislature]. [The Governor] I Maga’lahen Guåhan will designate, from among the members of the Commission thus appointed, the president and vice-president of the Commission. [The Governor] I Maga’lahen Guåhan shall select one (1) each: a person with disabilities who rides the Paratransit System, a member of GSTAT, DISID, Guam Developmental Disabilities Council and a member of the public to fill the positions on the GTC.

The Directors and officers thus appointed and designated shall hold office for terms of three (3) years, unless sooner removed by I Maga’lahen Guåhan, and shall be paid at the rate of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per day, for each day on which the Commission meets; provided, however, that such compensation shall not exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per month. They may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their responsibilities.
