  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.

There shall be a tax review commission, hereinafter called the commission. The commission shall consist of seven members who shall be appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate and shall be in the department of taxation for administrative purposes. The commission shall elect its chairperson from one of its members. The members shall receive no compensation for their services, but shall be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

The commission may enter into contracts with consultants and engage employees necessary to perform its duties without regard to chapter 76. Departments of the state government shall make available to the commission such data and facilities as are necessary for it to perform its duties.
