Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 261-20

  • Department: means the department of transportation. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 261-1
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.

The department of transportation shall report in writing to the governor immediately following the end of each fiscal year. The report shall contain a summary of its proceedings during the preceding fiscal year, a detailed and itemized statement of all revenue and of all expenditures made by or in behalf of the department during the preceding fiscal year, an estimate of anticipated revenues and expenses for the next succeeding fiscal year, such other information as it may deem necessary or useful, and any additional information which may be requested by the governor. The fiscal year of the department shall conform to the fiscal year of the State.
