Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 269E-17

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Commission: means the public utilities commission. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 269E-2

From the order made on an application for reconsideration or rehearing by the public utilities commission under this chapter, an appeal shall lie in the manner provided in section 269-15.5.
