Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 323F-24

  • Corporation: means the body corporate and politic known as the Hawaii health systems corporation. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 323F-1
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Legislative session: That part of a chamber's daily session in which it considers legislative business (bills, resolutions, and actions related thereto).
  • Regional system board: means a community-based governing board of directors of a regional system of the corporation. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 323F-1

The corporation‘s and each regional system board‘s operating and capital improvement budgets shall not be subject to review or approval by the governor or any state agency, except where state general funds or capital improvement moneys are requested. If general funds or capital improvement moneys are requested, then the corporation or any regional system board shall include, with its request, the proposed budget for which the funds or moneys are to be included. The corporation and regional system boards, once operational, shall collaboratively submit their budgets annually to the legislature for review and approval at least twenty days prior to the convening of the regular legislative session, beginning with the budgets for the 2010-2011 biennium fiscal years.
