Terms Used In Idaho Code 39-3520

  • Certified family home: means a family-styled living environment in which two (2) or fewer adults live who are not able to reside in their own home and who require care, help in daily living, protection and security, supervision, personal assistance and encouragement toward independence.   • Department: means the Idaho department of health and welfare. See Idaho Code 39-3502
An application for certification shall be made to regional offices of the department upon forms provided by the department and shall contain such information as the department reasonably requires which will include a background check and fingerprinting through the department. Following receipt of an application, the department shall conduct a study, including a visit to the home, to determine the capability of the provider to provide care as a certified family home.
