Terms Used In Idaho Code 67-6609

  • Candidate: means an individual who seeks nomination, election, or reelection to public office and who has taken any of the following actions:

  • Contribution: includes any advance, conveyance, forgiveness of indebtedness, deposit, distribution, loan, payment, gift, pledge, subscription or transfer of money or anything of value, and any contract, agreement, promise or other obligation, whether or not legally enforceable, to make a contribution, in support of or in opposition to any candidate, political committee or measure.   • Expenditure: includes any payment, contribution, subscription, distribution, loan, advance, deposit, or gift of money or anything of value, and includes a contract, promise, or agreement, whether or not legally enforceable, to make an expenditure. See Idaho Code 67-6602
  • Political committee: means :
    • Idaho Code 67-6602
  • Political treasurer: means an individual appointed by a candidate or political committee as provided in section 67-6603, Idaho Code. See Idaho Code 67-6602
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. See Idaho Code 73-114
    • If no contribution is received or expenditure made by or on behalf of a candidate or political committee during a period described in section 67-6607, Idaho Code, the political treasurer for the candidate or political committee shall file with the secretary of state, at the time required by such section of this act for the period, a statement to that effect.
