Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 1905/1905-90

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
     Any statute that by its terms is to be administered by the State Mining Board shall be administered by the Board without any direction, supervision, or control by the Director of Natural Resources or the Director of the Office of Mines and Minerals, except that which the Director of the Office may exercise by virtue of being a member of the Board and except as may be provided in the statute.
