  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Department of Natural Resources is authorized to receive Federal monies for the survey, acquisition, planning and development of historically significant properties and interests. Monies so received shall be placed in the Illinois Historic Sites Fund in the State Treasury. The State Treasurer shall, ex officio, be the custodian of such fund. Subject to appropriation, such fund shall be drawn upon by the Department or disbursed by the State Treasurer to local governmental units or other qualified participants upon the direction of the Department.
