Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 220 ILCS 10/16

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
     The corporation may not sponsor, endorse or otherwise support, nor may it oppose any political party or the candidacy of any person for public office. The corporation and its directors and employees may not in their official capacities make statements which are intended to influence elections.
