Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 240 ILCS 10/15.5

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Personal property: All property that is not real property.
     The jurisdiction of the Commission under this Act extends to personal property warehouses, the operators of those warehouses, and to other activities specifically set forth in this Act.
