Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 50 ILCS 740/6

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • individual: shall include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.36
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     – Deposit of funds. The Office may accept contributions, capital grants, gifts, donations, services or other financial assistance from any individual, association, corporation or other organization, having a legitimate interest in fire protection training and personnel and from the United States of America and any of its agencies or instrumentalities, corporate or otherwise. Such amounts of money so received shall be deposited in the fund created by Section 10 of this Act and may be expended, along with moneys obtained from the State of Illinois, for the purposes specified in that Section.
