Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 510 ILCS 101/5

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The legislature intends to promote the growth of the swine industry in Illinois; to assure the citizens of this State and the American public an adequate and wholesome food supply; to provide for the general economic welfare of both producers and consumers of pork and the State of Illinois; and to provide the swine production and feeding industry of this State with authority to establish a self-financed, self-governed program to help develop, maintain, and expand the State, national, and foreign markets for pork and pork products produced, processed, or manufactured in this State.
