Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 615 ILCS 5/11

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Department of Natural Resources shall obtain all possible data, surveys, charts, high and low water marks, and river gauges, and information with reference to the navigability of any of the public bodies of water of the State, and keep the same at all times available for public inspection, and aid in extending the navigation of any of the public bodies of water of the State. Such information shall be furnished at its actual cost to any person desiring the same. Certified copies of such data shall be received in court as evidence of the facts thereby shown.
