Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 615 ILCS 5/9

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Department of Natural Resources shall carefully investigate any and all complaints that may be made that any person, company or corporation is attempting to interfere with the free and unobstructed navigation of any of the public bodies of water of the State, and if it finds that the complaint is well founded, the Department shall enter such order as may be required to prevent wrongful interference with such navigation.
