Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/245-20

  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
  • Board: means the governing and administrative body of the Salem Civic Center Authority. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/245-5
     Within 60 days after January 9, 1990 (the effective date of Article 2 of Public Act 86-1017), the mayor of the City of Salem, with the advice and consent of the Salem city council, shall appoint 3 members of the Board for initial terms expiring June 1, 1991; 2 members for initial terms expiring June 1, 1992; and 2 members for initial terms expiring June 1, 1993. The successors of the initial members shall be appointed in like manner for 3 year terms from the date of appointment, except in case of an appointment to fill a vacancy.
