Any referendum required under Section 255-45 or 255-50 shall be ordered and certified by the Board and shall be conducted and notice thereof given in accordance with the general election law. The returns of the election shall be filed with the Secretary of the Board and shall be canvassed and the results ascertained by the Board and entered upon the records of the Authority.
The expenses of the referendum shall be paid by the Authority.
