Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 2105/7

  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
     All ordinances imposing any penalty or making any appropriations shall within one month after they are passed, be published at least once in a newspaper published in said district, or if no such newspaper of general circulation is published therein, by posting copies of the same in ten public places in the district; and no such ordinance shall take effect until ten days after it is so published, and all other ordinances and resolutions shall take effect from and after their passage unless otherwise provided therein.
