Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 405/3.08

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • individual: shall include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.36
     “Land occupier” or “occupier of land” includes any individual of legal voting age, firm or corporation, other than the owner, who is in legal possession of any land lying within a district organized or proposed to be organized under this Act, whether as lessee, renter, tenant or otherwise.
