Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 508/27

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     The Authority shall make its best effort to annex the parcels of property that are subject to the jurisdiction of the Authority to a contiguous municipality named in subsection (c) of Section 15.
